Besides providing elective
and emergency general surgical services, University
General Surgeons, P.C.
coordinates care of injured patients at the Trauma Center at the
University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville. The Trauma Center
is a state of the art facility that was opened by the University of
Tennessee Medical Center in 2001. It contains four major resuscitation
rooms, a trauma receiving unit, its own radiologic capabilities, and
as many as 32 intensive care beds in three intensive care units to care
for over 3000 seriously injured patients each year.
The surgeons of University
