Lou Mahala Smith, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Lou Mahala Smith graduated with her Doctor of Medicine in 1985 from the University of South Alabama, Mobile, Alabama. She completed her Surgical Residency training at Louisiana State University Affiliated Hospitals. In 1995 she completed a Thoracic Surgery Fellowship at the University of Illinois and in 1998 completed a Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville, TN.

Dr. Smith is Board Certified in Surgery and Critical Care. She is currently serving as an Associate Professor of Surgery at the University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, Tennessee.
